Alexander Weiss in his army uniform, 1918. Gramps was shot three times through and through. Till his death in 1992 (age 98) you could see the three bullet holes front and back. His life was saved by a trench mirror, a small piece of shiny metal that soldiers used for shaving and whatnot. This twisted piece of metal is now displayed in my living room, next to his Purple Heart, dog tags, and pay record. This picture will soon join that display of his medals.
