Here's Gramps at work. We have a few of these pictures, and I love them all. You can see the signs of the meat-packing on his apron. Later he did some buying, but mostly he was a hands-on kind of guy. He always had this huge callous on his pinkie finger from handling the knife. This picture was probably taken in NYC, maybe in the Gansevoort district.... just guessing there... I know he worked for Joseph Kenney and company, but that might have been later.
